Welcome everyone to Waterhall today for our Christmas Lunch and to Jersey Reds for our second fixture this season. Seeing another sell-out lunch as we entertain second in the table is fantastic.
Life in this division is challenging, and our league position does not represent how well we have played this season at certain times during games. Gaining Jersey and Wimbledon into the league has become an extension of the national league above, with brutal, uncompromising sides and an excellent rugby standard. Our seconds in recent weeks have had great victories over Uckfield and Lewes’s First XV. Our future is bright, too, with our M&Y set-up going from strength to strength with an army of coaches and volunteers who keep all our sides running and competitive. Today’s task is enormous for us, but the players have worked and trained hard; with players returning from injury and the southern hemisphere season, we are starting to look a bit more like it.
Jersey Rugby Football Club is an amateur rugby union club based in Saint Peter, Jersey. It was formerly part of Jersey Reds as Jersey Athletic but separated in 2022 and is now known by its original name, Jersey Reds. They have just been promoted into the league and sit second with a game in hand.
