The game started well for Brighton with the forwards in the mood to take it to the opposition. The back line were still trying to find their feet a little and due to miscommunication Horsham broke down their left and with good support play managed to break the deadlock. This was one of the few flowing moves.
With Brighton’s forwards starting to impose themselves it wasn’t long before the score was levelled. Jack drove over for a great forwards move.
Next up a great kick by Ben Varley and chase by Otto put Horsham’s fullback under pressure and Otto finished the move off.
The period ended with Brighton well on top even though our backs weren’t firing at their best.
The second and third periods followed the same pattern with Brighton firmly in the driving seat the forwards creating pressure. As the game went on and the backs settled, and we started get in the flow.
Further tries from Felix, Morgan and a second from Jack saw Brighton run out comfortable winners.
Horsham scored a second again getting to the outside highlighting an area that will need improvement.
The boys showed great character after their first outing admittedly with little preseason under their belt. Bouncing back after a hard day last Sunday V’s Havant.

Well done all the colts a good day’s work especially the boatrace win in the clubhouse.
